California State Lottery Rolls Out Mega Millions

Will increase $175 million more for California schools

Acting Director Chon Gutierrez announced at the April 12 workshop in Sacramento that the State Lottery Commission had adopted regulations to implement the multi-state Mega Millions game.

In late June 2005, the State Lottery rolled out the Mega Millions game and saw over $2 million in sales on the first day.  In an article printed by The Sacramento Bee  it was noted that this new game will generate $175 million of additional revenue for California's educational system.

Congratulations to Mr. Gutierrez for his leadership and tenacity to make this happen.

The State Lottery is one of the strategic partners involved with this initiative.
